Noticed some milk 'escapage' today from both nipples and squeezed one side and produced a small drop of breast milk.

What might the possible explanations be?

i stopped bf'ing dd for about 4 months, maybe longer ( a bit vague, sorry). Not same thing I know but..

It sounds as if your prolactin levels may be a bit high. I'm no expert but having done A-level biology last year...!

I would go to the GP tbh. I would think there's very likely to be a link with the injection but worth getting referred to an endocrinologist - you may have a wait for an appointment anyway, so I would get things rolling.

Thanks, that's interesting. I wonder what other symptoms there might be if it is that. I'mnot aware of any other stuff except I had a touch of PMT over the weekend.

All I know that some medication can cause a small amount of breast milk. I was rather poorly after DD3 with PND, was on ADs for a good couple of years. I had terrible let downs of milk that would leave a wet patch on my T shirt. It was awful. Very embarrassing. When I stopped taking the tablets within a few weeks the milk stopped.

What annoyed and upset me more than anything was my milk dried up naturally, not me wanting to stop!

dividedself · 17/03/2008 23:11

I was on ADs several months ago but not now

Hmmmmmm not sure then! I have to admit I did hate my body when it was not giving DD sufficient amount of milk, to then dry up and only let down when it felt like it!

I was given tablets (cant remember what they were called thou) to try and stop the let downs, but they never really worked.

there have ben a few threads like this over the years - the general view is see your gp who can do blood tests to check levels of this and that.

I too am a sufferer - have been to gp who said everythings fine?
