Giving up booze - any stories to keep me motivated?

I drink from Thursday night to Saturday night pretty much every week. Drinking always triggers me to smoke and I am just sick of feeling dreadful the next day. I am anxious and grumpy the next day. I get horrible migraines, that are definitely triggered by alcohol, and I just need a break and to cut down.

My last drink was Friday night and I only had one wine and was in bed all day Saturday.

I loooove a glass of wine so much so will be sad to give it up temporarily. It feels like my treat after a long week.

Can people tell me their success stories about how going sober, either temporarily or permanently, has changed their life/health/skin. I have been looking at before and after photos and it’s pretty motivating to see the change in people’s appearance but any additional encouragement would be great!

Add up how much ££ you spend each week on wine.
Add up how much you would save in a month/year. What could you do with a years wine money?

I am so much better off.
I’m thinner.
No more wasted days off feeling rough with no motivation to do anything/go anywhere.
I’m thinner, a lot thinner.
My skin is no longer grey.
My face is no longer puffy.
I sleep better.
My anxiety is reduced.
No more regular migraines and headaches.
I am no longer so grumpy!

Drinking during menopause gives horrible hangovers for the smallest amount of alcohol. 3.5 years alcohol free, and I loved my wine, but I love the way I feel now much more!
