I'm so poorly :(

I've been coughing and a bit under the weather since just before Christmas but since last Sunday I feel really properly ill.
Symptoms are
Horrible cough
Headache
Earache
Sore throat
Exhausted beyond Exhausted
Just generally unwell in myself
Feverish on and off

I think its flu, I tested negative for covid on day 2 and again today.
I finished a 5day course of amoxicillin for a potential ear infection this morning.

So far I'm feeling either the same or worse every day with no improvement.

Any ideas when I'll start to feel better.
Should I phone GP again (snot is luminous green) plus I need a sick note but there is zero chance I could get myself there for an appt, I can barely make it to toilet.

Lay in bed with a hot toddy, silently weeping and feeling sorry for myself.

Sorry to hear this.
many Gp’s offer phone appointments - where I am it is all triage by phone anyway.

I have had a nasty virus and am still shattered weeks later. Rest is important at this stage. Hope a few more days in bed, with lots of fluids helps.

Thanks @Chestnutsroastgreen I'm not usually so emotional I'm just feeling very worn out xx

It sounds like the lurgy similar to flu.
It is vile and exhausting.

Lots of fluids, take paracetamol if you can, vitamins, lots of rest and build up exercise (e.g.walking to the shops etc!). Really slowly.
And keep an eye on your chest, get rid of the mucus as much as you can.
Hope you feel better soon.

I've been I'll on and off with various bugs and viruses since end of October, the same as last year and it sucks.

I've just had penicillin for a severe throat and sinus infection that started on Xmas friggin day so I spent the 5 days I had off work haggard and rough. All my dc have been I'll with varying things aswell, colds coughs, headache type viruses and we've all been absolutely exhausted.

I've upped everyone's vit c and am now mask wearing at work as I work in very close proximity to individuals because I'm so sick of getting I'll.

I feel your pain

Flu is hideous , expect to feel absolutely awful for a week and then gradually better but flu like you describe takes a good while to shake off so don't get impatient. I take Metatone tonic after being ill which really helps.

Lost of fluids and eat toast when you can stomach it. Pain killers every 4 hours, don't miss a dose. I remember the weepiness, you poor thing 💐

Sorry your feeling so poorly
Ive also been poorly since start of December feeling really under weather cough /cold dragging myself into work and spending all evenings /weekends in bed or lying on settee.
Started feeling a lot worse last Saturday and not been out house since called in sick to work with symptoms identical to yours last Tuesday I did a covid test and positive straight away .
Am due back in work tomorrow starting to feel a bit better but really don't feel well enough to go back dreading ringing in tomorrow as I know not going to go down well manager was really frosty with me last week .
Going to need a sick note too hope can get phone appt with GP.
DH and friends telling me to stay off need to rest etc but just feel guilty work seem to think 5 days for Covid max then your back in .
Hope you are on the mend soon Flowers
