Random virus - beyond exhausted! Any advice?

I've picked up a virus last week. It's not an ordinary cold, in fact the symptoms aren't cold symptoms at all, it's not in the head. But my God do I feel exhausted! I've only left the house once in a week. I can hardly get up to get a drink, and I've not had a proper meal as I've no ready meals/freezer food in and I can't cook. So just pieces of fruit etc.

The main symptom is this absolutely crippling exhaustion, I've just never known anything like it. It's like I've been hit by a truck. But without feeling ill as such.

I don't know if I can stay in bed much longer but I don't know how to treat this or even what it is.

It's probably covid - there's a big global surge right now.

The single most important thing you can do right now is rest. A lot.

And keep resting until you are properly better. You don't want to end up with the Long form of this, so don't try to push through

I am on day 8 of this, all covid tests have been negative. I am beyond exhausted, cold all the time, no appetite and feel just generally weak. I hope it clears up soon as ive not made it into work the past few days as I feel so rubbish 😭

I’m glad someone else has raised this, as I’m starting to think I’m crazy. I’ve had a virus for around nine weeks now, and my biggest issue is fatigue. Doing small tasks is absolutely wiping me out. But everyone around me thinks I’m making it up and just being lazy.

I'm thinking it probably is/was COVID or maybe EBV?

Still absolutely shattered albeit able to live daily life now (but sport is still out of the question). Almost constant cold sore which must be due to immune system not performing well. Rather wish I'd worn a mask through December, it would have been preferable to this.

Hope everyone else is doing better.
