Do I have too?

Pharmacist said to give it two weeks and then go to GP. DH said early dx and treatment is better. What will the GP do?

It is worse than it was this morning.

My Granny had this and had a simple op and really good results. Yes I say def go to the doc. At least you will be on a list if an op is necessary.
Sorry don't know history.....

I get this during the night and it's quite uncomfortable if I wake up with it... I think that its often related to preganancy (mine started this way) and sometimes the doctor gives wrist splints to help - (but I haven't been to the docs about mine...)

Will watch this thread with interest

way too much time on the pooter 3nab!

I didn't think it was an urgent problem.

Surgery is sort of last resort I thought.

TBH doc will refer you to hospital who will refer you for neuro tests (dont know the proper name for them) to test the nerves to actually detect whether it is CTS or not. Then consultant will decide whether or not to operate. I have had both my hands operated on. The right hand first and the relief was instant, had the left one done 6 months later and still suffer the tingling and numbness now. Also has left my left palm feeling very tight.

I had it when I was pregnant. Holding my hand up helped. But I don't suppose that's a permanent solution

Apparently it isn't down to too much computing.

It really hurts.
