Chickenpox anyone?

My DS has had a cold for over a week, rising temperature in the evenings. Then last week 5 spots appeared on his back.

GP said they might be Chickenpox but normally more develop, they get worse etc.

Now 5 days later he has more, on the sides of his tummy - but they aren't huge and he's not been scratching them.

Still cold / temperature symptoms. I'm treating with TLC and calpol.

Anyone else's DC got this "mild" form, or something similar? Any advice?

You don't always get loads of spots, but the 'ill' part usually clears after a couple of days in my experience and it's just the scratching that bothers. You can also get rashes with viral infections. After almost 2 weeks of being poorly I'd take your kid back to the doctors.

Ds2 two was throwing up thurs and fri last week and had 1 spot on Saturday evening. He had 5 spots last night and I counted them this evening and he now has 16 spots. My dd was absolutely covered so I consider this quite mild, although he's still got time to get more. Now he's stopped throwing up he's not really ill just seems quite tired, no itching or scratching though
