Tonight I was just sitting on my bed then all of a sudden something came up my throat and it burned and I swallowed it . Now I know it’s reflux but what can cause it ?? I’ve never had it apart from when I was pregnant (I’ve tested , my period is late but negative tests , apart from one faint positive but just have been an evap as all other tests look neg!) I’ve been having weird phantom like kicks but in my upper abdomen too, sometimes a bit of pain upper belly too ! I obviously plan on speaking to gp but worried they’ll just tell me it’s normal.

What’s your diet like including drinks?

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 05/01/2024 19:47

Some foods cause this for me.
Dairy foods cause it for DH to the extent that he buys 'lacto free' products.

My eating has been up and down since having a baby , but I’m trying to gain weight so have been eating loads of eggs, chicken and cheese . Nothing different In my diet tho which is why I’m confused on why it’s happening all of the sudden

It could be hormones. I had reflux on birth control and also in pregnancy well before it's caused by baby pressing on your organs. In early pregnancy, reflux is caused by hormones - I believe progesterone.

Could it be a symptom of pregnancy even with negative tests ? As in too early for a positive test but a really early sign ?
im stomped . It really burned ! Never had any thing like it only when I was pregnant
