Hi I posed the other day of a rash I keep getting on the tops of my legs and arms, everyone who answered said it could be ring worm which is 100% is not I’ve had it years ago and ringworm felt scaly and this has no texture at all, it can completely disappear for a whole day, it was completely gone the other day and then yesterday and today it’s back, the patterns change every time I was worried it could be something like lupus because I am always tired and my hair is thinning, I feel achy all over sometimes and I also suffer with hidradenitis suppurativa which can be linked to an autoimmune problem, sorry for posting on here again but I’m a bit worried and am struggling to make an appointment with a doctor, also getting red cheeks on and off

Worth asking the GP to do some bloods- ANA as a starting point. Dermatologist referral?

henrysugar12 · 05/01/2024 18:49

Looks a little like the rash you can sometimes get with coeliacs

Erythema multiforme

See a dermatologist

Sorry you're suffering.
I had similar issues in 2015 - red cheeks, sensitivity to sunlight some similar rashes on legs, aching joints, extreme fatigue, dry mouth (extreme) and itchy eyes, kidney and liver problems.
I had various tests and was under a top rheumatologist. In the end, the tests were inconclusive. He said that I definitely had an autoimmune disease of some kind (high ANA - speckled variety) but which one, they weren't sure until more symptoms present.
Lupus was ruled out. He felt it was more likely scleroderma.
The good news is after 1 year, I fell pregnant and have since been well. All ANA results have been normal since.
I would ask for a panel of blood tests - including ANA (Antinuclear antibodies) and take it from there. Best of luck! Feel free to message me as I appreciate how stressful this is and perhaps I can help as I've had a similar experience.

Could be!

@Pinoco I had similar after having 2nd child - diagnosed with Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease (so similar to you, taking various features of other autoimmune diseases, lucky me) and been MUCH better since having third and final baby!! Pregnancy is so weird.

Mine is autoimmune. Can you ask your gp for a ref to Rheum?

It looks a bit like guttate psoriasis to me. Have you had a throat infection recently? Or have you had a similar rash after an infection in the past? It usually follows a strep infection, but can sometimes recur when someone who's had it previously is stressed or run down, particularly someone with an autoimmune history.

Not what you asked but I wish I looked like you, you are very beautiful.
