Anxiety panic attack

Hi all

I'm just rambling as it will help me calm down I hope and refocus. I was at my desk and felt like I had a panic attack coming on out of nowhere. Been sat with my elbows on the desk and hands under my chin while I’ve been doing a lot of reading (I work in education so been reading through students work) and got pins and needles in my hands, was also sitting on my leg for the morning and got pins and needles in my foot, I’ve been pushing myself and doing too much and I'm knackered after the holidays, so obviously in the back of my mind I’m thinking the worst and it’s gradually taken over more of my headspace so I’ve come out into the main building to sit on the chairs and watch the sea while I calm down.

Absolutely hate health anxiety! On 50mg sertraline for it.

Hope anyone else who is feeling it today is coping

Hey, hope you're feeling better now? I know how you feel when it comes to panic attacks, I've had them for the past 20 years at times of stress, you name it I've felt it all...the palpitations, the fast heart rate, the feelings of short of breath, the tingles, the whole thing. It's not a fun thing to go through and is usually a result of excess tiredness, overworking, anxiety, hormones playing up. Just remember that it's all normal and will calm down. Check out Dr Claire Weekes books on anxiety, she was a genius when it came to understanding and coping with panic attacks and anxiety. Her books are my go-to and have helped people all over the world. Also, stock up on camomile tea, you can drink that through the day too just to take the edge off x

I am thank you, better than I was anyway. I'm sorry you've experienced them too for so long, they're so debilitating aren't they? Thank you for the recommendations, I'll check those books out, I've tried podcasts but I'd prefer an actual book. Never even thought of chamomile tea! I've been coming down with whatever hugs going around too I think - I had problems with my sinuses and my face is so sore today - not bunged up or anything just sore so I'm trying not to spiral thinking the worst of that x
