Iglu mouth ulcer gel - discontinued, what's a similar alternative?

From time to time I'll get a mouth ulcer or bite my tongue and Iglu gel has been a lifesaver - what's so good about it is that it actually sticks to and stays on the ulcerated area, so assisting in the healing and providing protection.

Now though you can't buy it any more, seemingly something to do with the availability of one of the ingredients (I've even seen it suggested that the latter is due to Brexit ........ ).

So what's a good alternative that actually sticks to and protects the ulcer?

I've tried other treatments in the past such as Bonjela (tastes awful and doesn't last long), Frador (stings like mad and also doesn't last long) and no doubt others that I've now forgotten. Also tried salt but that too doesn't last long.

Iglu gel has though always been the best.

Oh no, I didn’t know Iglu had been discontinued 😩

I find the Alloclair range good: mouthwash, spray, and I believe they do a gel.

I get significantly fewer mouth ulcers since I switched to an aloe vera toothpaste. I suspect there’s an ingredient in normal toothpaste that was contributing but can’t prove it.

Re postings abiout being uset about the discontinuation of Igloo Gel, made by Dermal Laboratories, for ulcers etc of the mouth. It has been replaced with pastilles that work just as well but are easier to use! |They're excellent, better than similar products.
