Red blood spots in phlegm!

I don't feel well due to anxiety. The initial x-ray showed something like Peribronchial bronchial changes in rll - can match pneumonia. After taking the medications for a week, I see these red blood spots in the phlegm (for two days), and I do not know if this is normal or not.

I am 26 years old. At first there was just a runny nose that would not stop, then phlegm with blood for 4 days. I told myself it was time to see a doctor, gave me permission to do the initial x-ray, and explained to me pneumonia, there was no cough or fever, which is very strange, it was just a so much of phlegm. After taking the medications, the phlegm became less. Blood (streaks of blood in the phlegm) came out only twice during the days of taking the medications. After the medications ended, the runny nose disappeared, and the phlegm became less, but those small drops of blood came out in it (today and yesterday) Today I had another x-ray, the results will be on Sunday and my mind won't stop telling me it's lung cancer. I'm scared and terrified.

This is the first time I've had all of this. I've never had pneumonia or anything in my lungs before. I'm so confused, especially since I had health anxiety before. I worked hard to get this out of my mind. I always finally succeeded in getting a normal psychological state. It happened. I have this and I feel destroyed now with all these dark thoughts!

Hi OP, I had this, similar amount of blood flecks. I took pics and was told by my GP that this was just due to straining from coughing, nothing dangerous (I'd had a nasty cough for weeks at that point). Can't comment in the context of your x-ray and pneumonia but hopefully it puts your mind at rest that this amount of flecking can occur just due to a heavy cough.

@Wildcrystalchase Thanks for sharing this with me, I wish there was a cough in all of this, it would seem normal and explainable. Without a cough that seemed strange, it took me an hour to regain my reassurance. I kept repeating to myself, there is no lung cancer. I haven't eaten anything today, I don't want to eat, I feel somewhat depressed because of my anxiety.

A few years ago I was spitting up blood - it was actually coming from my throat because I had burst blood vessels with the cough but oh my gosh it gave me such a terrible fright! I might be wrong but I think if blood is coming from your innards it tends not to be bright but that is going back to biology in school. (I didn’t look at your photo)

@Judystilldreamsofhorses You're right, anything that has blood coming out of it, it's hard to feel at ease after seeing this coming out of you!!
