Travel insurance with cancer and treatment in the UK?

My MIL is Australian and is visiting us in the UK in May. She has lymphatic lymphoma and hasn't been able to find a company willing to give her travel insurance. I can find several in the UK, but they only cover UK residents. Anyone know of an Australian company that may insure her? She is going to come anyway...does anyone know if she will receive free NHS cover for a pre-exisiting condition?

I don't know what the NHS will do regarding a pre exsisting illness.

I do know that it can be horrifically expensive to get cover for a patient with cancer.

We tried to get a quote for dh, but the cost for a long weekend was coming in at over £10,000!

It might be helpful for you to contact Cancer Bacup or Macmillan Cancer, as both of these will have dealt with this sort of thing before.

If you do get cover/and/ or the NHS cover her, it might be worthwhile giving your GP a heads up, just in case.
