My DH has just had a catheter fitted at A&E for complete urine retention which came on suddenly.
They did a blood test for his kidneys at the time and said the results were ok.
However, on looking at them, I'm a bit concerned about one of them. The MTRD one which says "out of range".
Can anyone tell me if this is something to be concerned about?

The Dr is not concerned as this is likely due to him not urinating at the moment and should return to normal when resolved

Thank you both. Looking back on his records the levels were the same in October. Before that they were 60. A little knowledgeable is a dangerous thing I think

EGFR is an assessment of kidney function. It is on the lower side here, but there is an influence of age, gender, race and dehydration/illness which makes it hard to interpret as a single reading (a trend and previous readings are important). If he has had some obstruction it is usual for it to have affected this reading, and they will be following the trend. Managing the obstruction, keeping hydrated, and avoiding nephrotoxic (kidney harming) medication will be useful. This reading is not scary low.

@Mumaway thank you so much, that's reassuring
