Injury help - back / coccyx

So stupid me was cajoled into deadlifts last week. Never done them before, just copied what they did without explanation. I now know how fucking stupid that was, especially as I have a weak lower back and core.

anyway. That night I woke up with a sore lower back. Hoped it was doms. Went for a long walk, the next day went to the gym.

woke up the next morning with all doms gone but a painful coccyx and lower back. So I’ve obviously strained / sprained something.

looking for advice, it’s been 5 days. I’m on naproxen and paracetamol, using heat and gentle stretches. I am really impatient and worried (health anxiety).

has anyone else done similar and can advise me on a fair timeline and anything else I could / should be doing?

Yes - I sprained my lower back in November doing deadlifts too🤪. Seemed ok the next day so went for a run and then the day after, the back just locked up on me. Cue savage pain and me heading to a chiropractor. Can you see one ? Or a physio ? I’m finding I made excellent progress until Xmas but have gone backwards since then , doing too much housework and slowly starting to try and run again …. not back where I started, thankfully - but now almost 2 months in, I’m still not able to do my normal fitness routine so would highly recommend you get professional help, if you can. Good luck !

@TiramisuTastesDreamy oh my gosh no! I’m so sorry to hear that, that sounds horrendous. I was hoping to be better in a week or two, two months would devastate me.

I saw a physio today who has given me some stretches and did some myofascial release work on me and said not to worry too much. The muscle around my coccyx keeps spasming which really hurts.

im not a fan of chiro’s personally, all that clicking scares me!
