it's driving me nuts, what could it be??

I don't have excema or any skin complaints normally. they don't feel particularly dry and I don't think I've changed any of my products. I really can't bare it.. HELP!

There's your answer, your hairy slippers have fleas.

Flight · 17/03/2008 12:02

Could it be a liver thing?

belgo · 17/03/2008 12:04

cold blains?

Flight · 17/03/2008 12:04

Or hypothyroidism?

MascaraOHara · 17/03/2008 12:28

liver thing, hyperthyroidism, chill blains.. what are these things?

the itching on my feet has moved from my toes to my heels now..

isnt itching hands sign of coming into money and itching feet means going on your travels?

is it itching between fingers and toes or just all over?

MascaraOHara · 17/03/2008 12:38

it's all over them.

I like the idea of money & travel though.

I've just tried to look on NHS Direct but can't see anything relevant.

I think it is a virus thingy that is going around - I had itchy forearms, ankles and across my chest for a couple of days. Particularly itchy at night, when it would keep me awake. Gone now and I am none the wiser as to what it was. Felt like a reaction to something (I was incredibly allergic to random things as a kid) but like you, I have not changed anything or introduced new products.

Hope it passes soon.

BTW I have the D&V bug now - I don't think they are related.....

Further update it has now spread to my legs, my nose and my ears.. can't get an appointment with my GP and am taking 3 antihistamines(sp?) a day.. I have red blotchy lumps

OP posts:
rosybud · 20/03/2008 15:45

Have you spoken to a pharmacist?

Are the antihistamines helping?

If not i would really push for an emergency appt with GP before the easter weekend.

Hope you feel better soon.

cremolafoam · 20/03/2008 15:49

mascara get an urgent appt.
i have had chickenpox recently and all you say sounds a bit familiar.and yes you
can get it twice
say to the receptionist that you don't know ifyou are contageous and must see the gp as a matter of urgency.

MascaraOHara · 20/03/2008 16:04

Actually I've phoned them again and asked if they've had any cancellations so have an appointment later on.. I just looked in the mirror and my ears are really swallon.. I think (thought I cna't tell exactly that it might be coming out on m y face.

It doesn't look like chicken pox.

My hands feel cold to touch but feel to me like they're burning. it's horrible.

The antihistimines are working in such that they relieve the itching and the redness goes enabling you to actually see the lumps.

Shall I paint a red cross on my door do you think?

OP posts:
Flight · 20/03/2008 16:07

It sounds like a severe allergy. Not on any medication already I take it...hope the Dr has some answers for you x

MascaraOHara · 20/03/2008 16:11

I just dropped my trousers ass my thighs were starting to itch and it's all up my thighs.. literally covered.

At least my face isn't itching (yet) but you can barely see the spots as yet..

It's been on my hands for almost a wekk now... I hope it is an allergy.

I'll post tonight re. what the doctor says
