Blood tests

Just wondering if anyone knows when GP does routine blood tests, What tests do they actually do? I'm trying to work out if b12 is tested or if that is a specific test they would have to request?

Can you not see your results on the Gp app?

They’ll order different things based on symptoms/examination findings. ‘Routine blood tests’ just means they’re not urgent.

I'm in Scotland so don't have a gp app unfortunately. Last bloods I had done I was told my thyroid, and iron levels were good. I have low b12 symptoms but just wasn't sure if it would have been routinely checked as well.

Am in England but my GP said B12 is a specific request, not as part of a general blood panel. My request to add it was refused (and it wasn't really relevant to what I was being tested for this time time so I didn't argue).
Had it done privately through Medichecks a couple of weeks later. Think it was around 30 quid? Finger prick test sent off in the post. Apparently they give follow up advice but not sure what that consists of because mine was normal.

Thank you. I had looked at the home tests, think I will order one. No harm in checking as getting the gp to listen is hard work.
