Dodgy gait, fallen arches etc?

Weird time to start a thread on this but I suppose with new year approaching I want to look after myself better!

My feet turn out a fair bit when I walk and I noticed in the last year or two that my right foot turns out much more than the left. My feet also sort of fall inwards as well. More recently I’ve found it’s painful just to walk in bare feet, I can’t really describe it other than the fact it feels “wrong”. I’m not very aware in my body (I’m autistic and struggle with sensory input) but I now realise that the way my feet are is having an impact on my whole posture, leg/hip pain etc.

I gather you can get things like arch supports in your shoes (I did try some gel ones but they hurt!) but I’ve no idea where to ask - GP? NHS physio self referral? I could see someone privately if needed but don’t have much spare money for it.

Any advice would be very welcome!

Self referral to podiatry/orthotics for gait analysis. They will make orthotics to suit your needs if that's what they think you'll need.
