I hurt my lower back at the gym today. I went to pick up a weight and something went and I was in agony! I’ve taken codine and I’ve been sitting and lying on a hot water bottle. I keep trying to get up to move it slightly (small walk to the kitchen) so it doesn’t seize up!! Has anyone got any advice? I’m in absolute agony and I’ve got 3 kids I still need to get up for and do stuff for x I’ve never hurt my back before and I’m panicking the pain is so bad! Thank you x x

Bless you. I’ve done similar and my coccyx is really unhappy with me. Struggling to sit down.

I am on naproxen and paracetamol, cold and heat therapy, cat/cow stretches, happy baby pose and child’s pose regularly throughout the day.

keep walking around, but no lifting / sudden twisting etc.

I've done the same today bending to get bedding from the drawer under the bed.
In absolute agony now. It's taking my breath away.

Painkillers isn't touching it.

I bent to put my socks on and popped my back. The only thing that helped was cocodimal, naproxine and stretching in the swimming pool.

ETA : It took 6 weeks to walk more normally and I still dabe pain 6 months on. You should refer yourself for physio.

I went to the gp yesterday and they think I’ve trapped a nerve or sent the muscle in my back into spasm. They gave me Diazepam, naproxen and codine. I slept all day yesterday and today I can get up and down but standing and walking is still painful. Gp said to swim!! If you’ve hurt your back call the gp! Mine was lovely! The pain was horrible! So atleast o have a break from it now x

Make sure you eat with the codine and naproxine. They cause terrible constipation.

I spoke to my GP who thinks I've pulled a muscle or ligament. He suggested keeping at the paracetamol and ibuprofen every 4 hours and getting back in touch if it's not better in a few weeks. Ffs
I'm still in agony and can't even put my own socks or slippers on. He suggested physio but admitted the waiting list was long.
Sitting for work is absolutely killing be

I think your gp is taking the Micky! No way could I cope on paracetamol and ibuprofen!! No way could I work! I’d go so crazy only dogs and dolphins would be able to help me if my gp hadn’t prescribed decent drugs!! I’m not kidding this is worse than childbirth and I did that 3x with gas and air only!! I feel awful for anyone who’s gone through this before!! I’ve eaten all the way through as the tablets make me feel sick but I’d rather that than the pain!!

I like that expression dogs and dolphins. I've never heard that before. What does it mean.
I'm off work today so hopefully by Monday it will be ok
