Does anyone have the flu or tonsillitis right now???

I can't remember the last time I felt this unwell.

On a 10 course of antibiotics. Hopefully I start to feel better soon.

Awful. Needed a vent.

I've got a bad cold. Wouldn't call it flu though.

All in our house have bad colds, with sore throat and lingering cough.

not flu- and not Covid

Covid with an extremely sore throat. Temp went up to 106 last night. Fortunately I have no temperature now but my throat feels like there is a bag of nails in it

@justanothermanicmonday1 I was just looking to start a thread asking if anyone else has tonsillitis! It's the most ill I've ever felt. I'm on day two of antibiotics. How long before you felt better/your throat pain stopped???

Started with cough and sore throat last night but dong feel ill....at the moment.

Yep, had a three week cold with cough just before Christmas and now got raging tonsillitis. Bleurgh!

Yes! I've been ill since 20th December. I thought it was just a cold to begin with but it's mainly the throat, have never known pain like it! I lost my voice Xmas eve/Xmas day then it seemed to be improving. However, last night I went downhill again and kept waking up in agony, only paracetamol helps for a while.

No idea if it's tonsillitis and whether I need antibiotics but no hope of getting near a GP this week. I do have an appointment for something else next week (which was a mission to get) so will bring it up there if it hasn't gone.

@Teentrauma have a look at the back of your mouth. If your tonsils are the size of golf balls, bright red and covered in white spots it's tonsillitis! I went to the GP yesterday and it was actually quieter than normal. You could try a walk in centre or phone 111 for an out of hours appointment

Another one with tonsilitis! Been searching for a thread 😊 I was given antibiotics last Friday, was extremely lucky to be seen my my mum's gp as a temporary patient as I'm still in uni...

The dizziness took ages to go away, throat looked absolutely god awful.
No idea if I am on the mend or not but throat looks a lot better than it did last week, however it does still hurt to swallow and am feeling absolutely knackered.

@decemberwasshit Not that I can see. Apart from being a bit bunged up and occasional coughing fits it's just the painful throat that I'm keeping at bay with 4 hourly Paracetamol. No one else has caught it, very odd.

I’ve tested positive for covid and have blisters on my soft palette and the back of throat. I look like I’ve got plague.

I've also got COVID, not had it before and I feel absolutely dreadful, my throat is red raw and my chest hurts from coughing.

Croaking around with Laryngitis. Hate it, absolutely hate it.

We've been unwell over Christmas this year, but more of a cold than the flu. Felt really rough on Christmas day though.

I've just recovered from COVID.

Had strep throat before Christmas, (no tonsils) thought it was on it's way out. Then Boxing Day started coughing. Lost my sense of taste and smell. Covid tested (left over ones) positive . Lying in bed now with aching body and coughing fits.

I had this two weeks ago and felt horrendous. Also gave me a chest infection. I tested for Covid, and it was negative, so I think it was maybe flu. Left tonsil has flared up again, so I've been swabbed for strep. Luckily, despite the tonsil recurrence, I feel loads better than last time and have got more antibiotics early on! Hope you feel better soon, it's vile!
