Chest pain help

Hi all,

Merry Christmas!

I’m freaking out right now. I’ve had a couple of spells of light headedness in the past week or so, usually just before / while eating. Also a couple of instances of racing heart after eating, especially if something sugary.

I was planning on seeing the doctor on Wednesday, it’s been very mild so not overly concerned, I’ve never felt like I would faint for example.

Christmas morning started normal, but just put the baby down for his nap and I suddenly started getting chest pain. It’s on the left hand side just above my boob / at the top of my boo.

Now I should caveat that I suffer from anxiety, in particular health anxiety, so I am now freaking out and convinced I could be having a heart attack on Christmas Day.

I’m reluctant to call 111 as obviously chest pain they’ll just send an ambulance.

Do you think this could be anxiety or muscular? Or indigestion, I’ve had on and off diahhrea for a few days (sorry for TMI).

It hurts most when I take a deep breath in, but I’d say it’s really quite low level pain, like it’s not stopping me doing anything and I’m not feeling breathless or light headed. But am obviously now consulting doctor google and obsessing.

I’m basically wondering if I should try and crack on to enjoy Christmas and hope it’s anxiety and that that will make it go away. Or to be on the safe side and call.

I am 35, no history of heart disease, have a three year old and a baby. Very sleep deprived and exclusively breastfeeding if it makes any difference.

Ive been getting this is exact pain you describe for weeks now. I had a similar episode hsy lasted months last year, in my chest right above my left boob. Its deffo muscular for me. GP said costochondritis. It goes to my shoulder and um my neck sometimes. Test it to see if certain movements make it worse and press on the area and if it hurts to touch and the pain radiates then it's most likely muscular. The dizziness may not be related. I get episodes lightheadedness, again iv had it for almost a year and Gp doesn't seem worried. Said it's vertigo or anxiety or inner ear. Hope this helps. I have bad anxiety too, mainly health anxiety.

From someone who also has severe anxiety, I would say get checked over. No one is going to question chest pain if you call up concerned. Any medic will say it's better to check and be safe.

Good luck OP 😊
