Big lumpy spots on neck getting me down

Just that really :(
Despite living well, being healthy, clean and good with personal hygiene, I keep getting big horrible and impossible-to-hide spots on my neck. Usually a week or so before my period.
No make up seems to work as they're so big, almost like marbles in size. They rarely come to a head, so no pus to squeeze out. They take weeks to disappear (although don't leave marks or scars). It's really getting me down and affecting me confidence. Especially when they sometime appear on my upper chest area too.
Anyone out there suffer with these? Any ideas for getting rid of them?

Sounds like maybe cystic acne? Tea tree oil might be worth a try.

Yes it's like cystic acne and I get it on my neck and jawline. Been suffering for a couple of years now. Am 42 and think it's hormone related as have been getting perimenopause symptoms for about the same amount of time.

I'm lucky I work in dermatology so a consultant colleague has prescribed me lymecycline which is an antibiotic that you take for up to 6 months and that seems to help keep them at bay. They are bloody awful though.

Other things I believe can help are tretinion, azelaic acid or clindamycin lotion (a topical antibiotic) but different things work for different people.
