But its not a wheeze from his chest its more a whistle sound from his throat.

Really not sure if I should be worried

He's been off it all day and as the day went on his voice has dissapeared.

Ali

Sounds croupy. My dd sounds like that all the time (when asleep) due to a floppy larynx: its definitely what happens when upper airway is narrowed. Hope A&E have been helpful, fast, and that poor ds is home tucked up in bed soon, you too. Will be thinking of you. xx

Got home about ten mins ago
Turns out it was caused by an upper respitory tract infection (sp) and his tonsils were very swollen so the decided to monitor his 02 levels especially cos of all his other breathing probs.

He managed fine in the night although was borderline a few time

They started him on abs to stop a secondary infection traveling to his chest. Also got to give regular calpol and nurofen.

Sorry about the confusion in the thread title just didn't know how to word it

We are all shattered so going to have a duvet day.

Thanks for all the kind words last night it's hard to know what to do when it's something your not used to.

Phew. Glad you're home, and hope the duvet felt good....rubbish weather today, best place to be (though wish you had nicer reasons to be there, IYSWIM).
