Mole question

dinny · 15/03/2008 20:16

am bit concerned about a mole I think hasn't always been there, small but not tiny, on my face, slightly raised, brown, symmetrical...

but I simply can't remember when it arrived.

anyway, going to get it checked out but would anyone be able to advise whether best to go to GP or Mole Clinic in first instance, please?

thanks

oh, and can moles appear at my age? (35)

Moles can appear at any age (and any place, I haste to add), I have a mole dilemma myself right now, hopefully someone can tune in and answer you and me dinny...

Mine is just on the inside of my bum and I also have another one on the inside of my knee - do you think derm would be shocked if I expose my private parts?? I am being seen by a derm this week.

dinny · 15/03/2008 20:24

Nightcat, how did you notice the one inside your bum?

no, the dermatologist wouldn't be shocked, of course not!

am now really paranoid as just remembered I noticed one on my foot in yoga about a year ago too...

God, so scary

I think the mole on my face is sort of over an area I get a pore that periodically fills with sebum (nice!) and that is pushing it out a bit...

Well, I actually felt it like a small raised lump, I thought nothing of it for ages and thed decided to have a look with a mirror - it's black. I wasn't expecting that at all.

nightcat · 15/03/2008 20:32

thinking of yours, if it's brown then you are prob OK, my son had one taken out recently, it was also black

dinny · 15/03/2008 20:35

just thinking of all the times I have sunburnt my face now...
