Bacterial tonsillitis - when will I feel better?

I had very bad tonsillitis last week and the doctor prescribed me antibiotics which I’m half way through, I feel 70% better (I could barely stay awake initially), but I still feel really weak, little appetite, have a bit of a sore throat and now a little cough, and very swollen glands (not painful) on my neck.

Would these still be considered normal? I no longer have a fever and I do feel miles better than I did, but still quite groggy and ill in some ways. I became ill 7 days ago and started antibiotics 4 days ago.

If you've had a bacterial infection it can really take it out of you. Usually a few days but I have felt very washed out for a couple of weeks after a couple of bad tonsil/ chest infections in the past that really did need antibiotics. Convalescence isn't a thing anymore but probably should be!

Get lots of fluids, rest, eat well and fresh air walks when you feel able to. If you're still unwell when they've finished go back to Gp.
