Does this sound post-viral type 'thing'?

Really bad lower back pains, can be in the middle at base of spine but moves around a bit to the right and up more towards my loin(?). Been getting progressively worse in the last 5 weeks, feels like it might be nerve (it's like having a nerve scraped in my back).

I've not injured or pulled it at all.

Can move around but slowly, i dont want to do normsl things like shopping etc, i feel a bit miserable. Doc has written it off as muscular and just said to take pain relief and keep moving and go back in a month if no better. Did do blood tests that all came back fine.

A friend reminded me I'd had what I thought was covid about 3 weeks before this started (tests neg but it felt like covid) and it could be a post viral thing?

I've never heard of that and am not googling because I know it will say I'm dying.

Anyone had this after a virus?

Hopeful bump, pain feels different again today, like a shock type feeling in my right side just above hip, That's a nerve isn't it? Can you get nerve pain after a virus? It did floor me a bit

I have a post viral thing and it isn't like this

but you can get achy joints, an arthritis type thing, after viral infections so it could well be that

I would try a physio if you think it's joint/muscle related

Is it definitely not a kidney stone or kidney infection? I have kidney issues and the pain is as you describe. I’m not a doctor and don’t mean to alarm you. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

No he did a urine dipstick and that was fine, no sign of blood or protein etc, blood tests for infection/kidney function/blood counts all ok, perfect even according to gp . It feels kidneyish area sometimes but then moves about the right lower side. I feel fine, not fever or unwell etc. Just miserable with it 🤔

Trapped nerve? Can you just get that without pulling something?

sciatica? have you had that before maybe?

I have extensive nerve damage from Covid. I've been taking amitriptyline which has almost completely stopped the pain, which I've had since 2020! My neurologist prescribed it. I would wait a bit as it's only been a few weeks. Every time I get Covid I relapse (I have Long Covid) so I get a ton of symptoms that last awhile but eventually go away, except for the things that are permanent. I would wait a month and if it's still there ask for meds!

Aggggges ago, like 15 years maybe? Mum suggested sciatica and cheerily said it can take weeks to resolve 😤

Might see about a few private physio sessions and acupuncture and then see about some sort of medication if it doesnt ease in a month, I do feel like I need to be looser all over that area iyswim. Can't be muscular I've not done anything to it, it just started with a nerve scrapy type twinge that got worse each week.

Flowerchild that sounds grim I hope it gets better quicker for you!
