Painful lump on sole of foot

Stygimoloch · 18/12/2023 08:13

It seems like it’s come on overnight. There’s a small lump that feels deep under the skin towards the front of the arch of my foot. It is very painful! I can hardly put my foot down.

Anyone experienced anything similar? Any treatment recommendations?

Thanks!

Could it be a splinter? Do you ever walk around barefoot?

Stygimoloch · 18/12/2023 08:26

@helpfulperson thanks for the suggestion. I don’t think so because I can’t see any entry hole. The lump is not near the surface at all.

Could it be a corn?

Stygimoloch · 18/12/2023 08:43

@crochetcrazy1978 maybe. The lump is soft rather than hard. Feels quite fleshy. It’s just so painful to walk!

Could be a verruca coming on

I recently watched botched season 8 and someone had similar. It was in response to trauma, a planta fascia growth. I can’t remember what they called it.

@RougeFraise My googling is suggesting something similar - planta fibroma? It’s just come on so quickly and is so painful!

Morton's neuroma

Best see a GP for an accurate diagnosis but yes.

I had a plantar fibroma years ago. I was referred to the hospital by my GP, but by the time the appointment came through, it had resolved on it's own.

Stygimoloch · 18/12/2023 22:28

@Allthegoodusernamesareused was it very painful? I’m going to try and make a doctor’s appointment but I think I’ll be lucky this side of Christmas.

Hi, just wondering how you got on with your foot lump? I’ve woken up with the same ☹️
