Thyroid swelling

Hi everyone,

This is my first ever post, so hope I'm doing it right!

Basically looking for some advice from people who have been through this. I have a slight swelling on my thyroid, left side only, booked in for an ultrasound next Friday and feeling very nervous. Bloods showed thyroid function normal. Can't say I've ever noticed my neck swelling before, it was picked up on a CT scan for something else. Obviously trying not to think of the worst outcome and I know it could be nothing but can't focus on anything else at the moment 😩

I have a noticeable thyroid lump (well it's nodules apparently).
Mine is fine had ENT look down my throat and an ultrasound.
Just got to go back if it gets any larger, it's very common and most thyroid nodules are benign.

I also have a thyroid swelling with normal thyroid blood tests.
Was referred to ENT for an urgent ultrasound after noticing the swelling – a 3cm nodule (a colloid cyst, which is a semi-solid mass) and some smaller ones but all look benign so I was discharged with no follow-up.
I did go back about 6 months later because I felt the swelling had grown – it had, but all still looked ok so discharged again.
I can feel pressure in my neck all the time, and my throat feels constricted when I lie down, but apparently no further action unless the lumps actually start compressing other organs.
Try not to worry. Thyroid nodules are very common, usually benign and even when cancerous very treatable.
