Low pressure and dizziness after laparoscopy

shortbread12 · 16/12/2023 21:53

I had my laparoscopy done recently and my pressure was low after the surgery. They discharged me after my pressure was normal.

Last few days I am feeling dizzy. I checked my BP today, its around 85/65. Is this BP low or normal ?

Is it normal to feel dizzy after laparoscopy. I can try to reach my hospital, not sure how much helpful they will be.

Any similar experience ?

It will be the anaesthetic drugs, rather than the laparoscopy, it’s quite common. Drink plenty of fluid, move around frequently so you aren’t just sat. It can take a few days to go back to normal.

BP is ok.

I was pretty ill and woozy for about a week afterwards.

@GigglemugsHere Thanks :) My OP was on tuesday. Will the anaesthetic effects still be there ?

No, it won’t be anything to do with the anaesthetic drugs. Sounds like you need to speak to a real life HCP tonight if you’re feeling unwell with that BP. It may be nothing to worry about, but it may be something - no one on MN can tell you if that BP is good enough/due to a serious complication - it needs a lot more info to judge that. (Doi: anaesthetist)

Thanks @Greybeardy Reaching my hospital/GP is the tricky part and I prefer not to go to A&E and wait hours there.

I am feeling well otherwise. no pain, fever or vomitting.

I will try to ring the hospital tomorrow morning.

I had a laparoscopy recently and I was surprised by how awful I felt afterwards! I felt like it was really downplayed. I was dizzy, tired and weak for a good week after. Not to mention the crippling gas pain!

@BananaHammock23 Hope you are feeling ok now, take care :)

I am feeling okay otherwise, its the dizziness that troubles me.
