I was diagnosed with gallstones last year. At first they gave me absolute shiney for about three months. I changed my diet and managed to get it under control. Because I didn't hav any major pain and it was infrequent I never had the surgery and was advised to do watch and wait approach. I was told if my condition didn't worsen then it was unlikely to cause me loads of problems. I haven't had a bad attack for over a year. I get the occasional niggle in my right side that goes round to my back and some localized tenderness, sometimes some indigestion and nausea but nothing major that has me keeled over. But I've been reading stuff and I'm panicking now that I should have had the surgery, even though the reason I didn't.opt for it is because.im.shot scared of being put to sleep and having complications. It puts the fear of God in me. Had anyone else got gallstones under watch and wait approach? No horror stories please, I just want to know if anyone has been able to manage them.
