Small black dot under finger?

Any idea what this might be? I've tried to pick at it but it's too deep. It's a small black dot and feels quite hard. Does not look mole like and it's under the skin. Been there for a week and I can't get rid of it.

Did you have a cut there in the past few weeks ?

Runnerduck34 · 14/12/2023 19:17

Splinter? Sterilise a needle and see it you can get it out.

EdithStourton · 14/12/2023 19:18

Did you pinch that finger? Might be a blood blister.

robin43 · 14/12/2023 19:29

I can't remember cutting it or any injury etc. been trying with a needle but can't quite get to it. Is it best to just leave it?

You should see a doctor it doesn’t look right to leave alone

JoyeuxNarwhal · 14/12/2023 20:25

Thorn? I fell into a spiky bush many years ago and had loads that looked like that, right under the skin.

If it were me I'd just dig around with a sterile pin but I'm not suggesting that's a sensible course of action.

robin43 · 14/12/2023 20:29

I've been digging around all night and it's got too sore now 😅 I don't really want to waste a doctors appointment as I don't think it looks serious, but maybe best to get checked

Splinter or glass or something I'd say !

crankit · 14/12/2023 20:39

Try some magnesium paste it'll draw whatever it is out

theduchessofspork · 14/12/2023 20:52

If you can’t get it out go see the pharmacist

MBappse · 14/12/2023 20:59

Odd... not brilliant photo... but it looks like a pencil stabbing - the graphite from a pencil.. they stay in the skin for ages, look it up.

robin43 · 14/12/2023 21:04

Not used a pencil in ages. Ooo I did smash some glass the other day, that could be it!

Did you figure out what it was?

robin43 · 09/07/2024 23:14

@Johanna5737383 no, it went away after a few weeks. Maybe just a small splinter.

Oh super weird haha. I have the exact same. Feels like a little stone in my finger.

robin43 · 10/07/2024 11:58

@Johanna5737383 yes exactly how mine felt! It will go soon I'm sure :)
