Naproxen damaged stomach?

Can naproxen damage your stomach really quickly?

I took 4 doses in total,

250mg one evening after dinner
250mg the next morning after breakfast
500mg that evening a few hours after dinner but with 4 biscuits (to make sure I was 12 hours later)
250mg the next morning after breakfast

i took Omeprazole every day I took naproxen plus the day after

but I started with chest pain on the last day which is why I stopped taking more, in case it was coming from my stomach. The chest pain hasn’t gone and my stomach is a bit uncomfortable.

I really don’t want to go to the doctor for something like this in case I’ve just pulled a muscle, so I was wondering if anybody here can help?

if it is the naproxen, what treatment would I have anyway?! Presumably just Omeprazole? Which I still have and can take anyway. Should I take it just in case?

you need to stop taking it.

cardiovascular issues is a common side effect.
if in doubt ask a pharmacist or call the phone number in the leaflet.

it's a very potent anti-inflammatory pain killer, but it doesn't suit everyone.

I stopped taking it a few days ago. Chest pain hasn’t gone.

You need to go to A&E with chest pain.

I also had this. Spoke to the pharmacist and they told me to stop taking it. I think it faded after 4 days.

Chest pain needs A and E.

Potentially it’s just excess acid from the Naproxen - you should take some sort of ppi like omeprazole or esomeprazole alongside it - but it needs checking.

The pain has been there for 3 days now so don’t think it’s A&E. I’ve been to the gym with it and no exacerbation so I don’t feel it’s cardiac. it feels twingy, possibly muscular.

4 doses would not damage your stomach
