Just that. I had mine about 9 days ago ( keyhole). Recovery has been rather more difficult than I expected. Intense fatigue.

Hi OP, sorry to hear you're struggling with the fatigue.
I had one almost 3 weeks ago (keyhole, kept my ovaries). Unfortunately the pain I experience around my left ovary, due to endometriosis, has increased and I'm in a bit of a bad spot mentally (I'd asked for that ovary to be removed). Also struggling with fatigue.
How are you getting on during the day? Hope you've got someone looking after you.

I am actually overseas, as the NHS is completely non-functional where I am, and I though I would get better private care in my home country.

I have plenty of support here, but the fatigue and brainfog is really unexpected, I need to be back at work by January 1st, so hope I am better by then.

I had my ovaries out. Sorry to hear you are experiencing pain @AutumnOcean. I am still very glad I did it as my periods were horrific, and other solutions did not work.

Hey there,
With having your ovaries out you should talk to someone about HRT. And start paying close attention to what you eat and how it affects you.
Best of luck with your recovery.

Thanks @Unabletomitigate I was already on HRT before this, but will see about upping it or changing it. Tried to eat more protein today.

I had mine 4 weeks ago. Pain has gone, still a bit uncomfortable. The tiredness is something else still. Had a random bleed yesterday which I was slight worried about. Still so so much better than when I was just 9 days post op!
My sick note was just for 4 weeks (keyhole) but I'm not feeling well enough to go back to work - hope my GP is ok about signing me off for another week tomorrow!

Sususudio · 12/12/2023 04:19

Sorry to hear you are still not fully recovered, @BigBundleOfFluff. I managed a gentle walk yesterday and am feeling bettter, but so much brain fog and tiredness still.
