Post Nasal Drip and too much saliva

Has anyone found a cure?

I have had it about 6 weeks
I have tried antihistamines, decongestants and a steroid nasal spray ( Beconaise)
I have lots of saliva. I assume my mouth is making too much salvia to help wash the constant stream of mucus down the back of my throat.
What else could cause this?
It's not getting any better. I don't have any other symptoms at all.

Can someone please suggest something as I'm going nuts!
Thanks

Sounds like a mild sinus infection. Try nasal rinses (not spray - the kind where salt water goes in one nostril and out the other) and an infrared lamp.

@GrumpyPanda That's interesting. I don't have an infrared lamp but I'd buy one just to get better! I didn't think about it being a sinus infection as I can breathe clearly and no sense of pressure.

I will look up how to do a saline rinse.

For saline rinse, try Sterimar or Neilmed. Both available from pharmacies.

Right, this is going to sound really strange but did you know that acid reflux is linked to post nasal drip? You could try Gaviscon for a few days to see if it helps. It’s not going to do any harm.
I don’t get any ‘typical’ acid reflux symptoms like heartburn (or at least not any more, I did get it a lot a few years ago) but I do have less obvious symptoms such as mild nausea, loss of appetite, cough etc as well as the post nasal drip. Gaviscon really helps when these symptoms flare up.

@ScarlettDarling I'd read that in my frantic Googling to try to cure myself. I don't have any reflux symptoms but I have had heartburn in the past.
Pretty sure I have Gaviscon here. I'll give it a try.

@bellocchild Thank you! I'll get some as soon as I can.

I was going to suggest acid reflux too - it’s sometimes called ‘silent reflux’ because you don’t always know you have it. If you have it, I reccomend the Acid Watcher Diet book.
