Tooth extraction - is this normal? Photo TMI!

Hi all,

Sorry for the photo.

Had my tooth out on Wednesday.

My jaw still feels sore but I had 6 injections to numb the area, but the tooth itself only took around 10 seconds to come out.

The site is itchy now, and DH said my breath smells eggy.

I’ve been washing with salt water, eating on other side and mostly soft food (soup), and not using straw, I don’t smoke etc.

Does it look / sound normal? My concern really is the eggy breath and itching.

Yes; perfectly normal (ex-DSA). Leave it alone! Warm salt water rinses (not too vigorous - just hold the water there for 30 seconds) and gently spit out.

Brilliant!

I haven’t messed with it at all, and doing salt water rinse after every meal.

Can I drop that after a week?

Thank you!

Yes; after a week you can pretty much leave it to its own devices to heal :-)
