Does this blister look infected?

I have had a rash on my fingers it flares up every winter with the cold. On Wednesday night it was extremely itchy and I woke during the night to an open blister type thing.
I feel that the redness has decreased since yesterday and it isn't warm or anything but I don't like the look of it and I'm a bit concerned. The surrounding redness is due to the general rash.
But does this look worrisome?
Thanks

Looks infected

Thanks I'm not too sure, it isn't painful or anything and I think flash made it look worse lol.
I was going to call my GP earlier but didn't as I felt like it was dramatic and now I'm beginning to wish I did as I'm worried that if it's infected it will get worse over the weekend...

It's a bit infected but I'm sure it'll be fine, going to the doctors would definitely be dramatic. If you had a big spot on your face you wouldn't go to the doctors for that would you? Just keep it clean and covered so it doesn't get knocked and it'll probably be fine in a few days.

I am just worried as I have pretty poor circulation in my hands so they are always freezing etc

I’m sure it will be fine but in the worst case it gets really bad over the weekend you could pierce it with a sterilised needle and wash the wound in TCP.

I would pop that blister and wash it out with salt water - 1tsp salt in a tumbler of warm water. Then keep it covered with a plaster between washes. Do it morning and night

Thanks all, I will keep an eye on it and do salt water rinses etc

If the redness around it gets a lot bigger then check it with a pharmacist. Otherwise that's an at-home thing to treat with salt water and keeping it clean.

I would pierce and clean with TCP or another antiseptic solution. It doesn't look like it needs antibiotics.

Go into the pharmacy. They are really helpful with stuff like this.

CherryBerry99 · 08/12/2023 21:49

Thanks all, I'll do the salt water and might nip into the chemist tomorrow depending on how it is.

Looks okay to me. It will be fine in a couple of days.
