Thickened area breast tissue

I saw the GP this week as I have a slightly more thickened area of breast tissue at the front of my left breast. It’s a bit thick on my right breast too in the same place but more significantly so on my left. GP agreed so have been referred to breast clinic. No lump or skin changes. Nipple that side has been a bit tender the last month or so though.

GP said she wasn’t massively concerned given I stopped breastfeeding 5 months ago (after feeding for nearly 3 years) and thinks probably just glandular tissue. I can still
express milk from both breasts so definitely hormonally not settled yet.

I’m 39 and my mum had bc in her late 40s so am quite anxious really. Any reassuring stories would help!

Thanks 🙂

I had (have) that and have been to the beast clinic. they said I have very lumpy and fibrous breasts and one breast is simply denser than the other. I am not symmetric.

Thank you! That’s really reassuring.
