Hi all

I have a GP appt about the below but not until 23rd December, and could do with some advice / ideas.

  1. I have ulcerative colitis. At present this is well managed

  2. I am 5 months PP and had cholestasis in my pregnancy with very high LFT results

I have been feeling nauseous for over a month now. Worse than when I was pregnant, and I was very very nauseous during pregnancy. I am not pregnant - have done several tests and have had a period.

I'm weeing more too.

I've had 3 colds in a month and think I'm starting another one atm. One was bad enough it could've been mild flu.

I just feel like utter shit all of the time, the nausea is fucking horrible and I just have no idea what it could be. My LFT (ALT / ALP) are still showing as high, but nowhere near as high as when I was pregnant.

Any ideas??

Have you had the blood tests done already (that you know your levels)?

I'm sorry it sounds miserable - being nauseous all the time is horrible.

Hi - yes have had blood tests, bone profile is not great, creatinine not great, high ALT & ALP (but know that could be a cholestasis hangover). Iron fine.

Could it be a urine infection? Those can sometimes make you feel nauseous

Do you think you're adequately hydrated? I have u/c and dehydration can sneak up on you, make you feel terrible and cause nausea.
It's not just about water, it's about electrolyte balance. Could be worth drinking isotonic fluids regularly and see if they help

Hydrated is a good shout. I guess because I'm essentially in remission from the UC at the mo, I'm not drinking as much water as I do when I'm in a flare. I will try better hydration, thank you.

I don't think I have a UTI, although I'm weeing loads. If I didn't know for certain I'm not pregnant, I'd be convinced I am - really similar symptoms to early pregnancy!!
