🙈🙈

Not sure what it is, but started late Sunday night/early Monday with the worst smelling wind ever!!

Progressed onto frequent diarrhoea since then, several times every day. But, sorry, it's the wind and the smell that are the worst!! Luckily DP is away this week but every morning I've had to wake up and open a window. Awful BlushBlush

Also feel a bit coldish, and absolutely freezing, like I cannot get a heat in me, hot water bottles, electric blanket, duvet, blanket. Still freezing.

Anyone else had this? How long did it last? Heading to day 4 and no better and such a busy weekend planned. A few people have mentioned it sounds like the newest covid strain but doesn't seem like any covid I've had previously.

Hope I've not put anyone off their dinner!!! Blush

Yes, I had this about a month ago.

Horrendous wind and yes, the feeling freezing. My whole body also ached, just felt in pain and discomfort. I also then lost sense of taste / smell.

The worst of it was two days, then I gradually started to feel better. Was back to normal in a week.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Sounds like gastroenteritis

PanettonePuff · 06/12/2023 19:55

Could be this new strain of Covid, OP - I had all the symptoms you mention including the bad stomach, freezing cold, aches and pains etc. Had to see GP in the end, with horrendous earache and he said so many people were seeing him with same thing and the GPS felt that it was indeed this new strain. It doesn’t show up on tests and the jabs haven’t covered it so we just have to manage it🤷‍♀️
Hope you feel better soon, it’s horrid💐

Sounds exactly like campylobacter OP, but you won't know it's that without a stool sample. It smelled awful! Blush

WistleToeAndTine · 06/12/2023 20:04

Thanks everyone - good to know that others have had similar, not that I wish it on anyone or I'm glad you had it, but you know what I mean!

It just been so hideous, I was starting to think there must be something rotting within me!! BlushShock

Hopefully it will be on its way out, I have also felt quite achy, like I have done a lot of exercise or a very energetic workout, when actually I've not left the house or done very much (luckily can work from home!) since Sunday.

Have looked up campylobacter - we did eat out over the weekend. DP and the kids have all been fine, although we did have different things I suppose.

I've managed to keep it to myself so far, DP back Friday and Teens don't much venture from their bedrooms so fingers crossed it stays that way.

@WistleToeAndTine the rest of my family were also fine when I had it (which then made me realise it wasn't a very transmissible stomach bug like I initially thought). Campylobacter can lurk in one tiny bit of food!

YourTruthorMine · 07/12/2023 19:36

Could be Swine Flu, that's back in circulation and causes gastro symptoms

caketherapy · 07/12/2023 23:24

Yes!!! I've had this! The farts were the worst ever! I had that part (along with some nightmare diarrhoea) for 3 weeks but I have IBS so... my son was ill for a day, my ex had the stinky farts for a week but didn't feel right following week, he's now fully recovered. I'm still not quite right on week 4 but if it is is Covid that would make sense.
I took a test and it was negative but it makes sense to me that is is. As it's triggered chest inflammation/pain at the end of it, just like I got first time with Covid. I also had the horrible cold feeling you mention and the earache and joint pain too. It's been proper grim!
Take it easy, it's a nasty bug.

Thanks all. Still feeling rubbish and having the diarrhoea, it's so draining now, feel exhausted along with general body aches. Was going to try calling the dr today but maybe not worth it and I'll just try and rest up over the weekend and ride it out.

I wonder if it is covid related? Hopefully it's on the way out soon, have such a busy few weeks! (I know everyone does at this time of year!)

I've had the same this week. Was very bloated and constipated over the weekend which is unusual for me.

l felt washed out and tired all through Tuesday and Wednesday and woke Thursday morning feeling cold and shivery and a bit light headed. Spent the day shivering under a blanket taking paracetamol. This morning I feel a bit better in myself but have had 7 attacks of diarrhoea so far and can't be too far away from the loo.
