Undigested nuts in nappy ? Advice pls

DD (2.4) is a fussy eater and has had alot of illness recently. Nuts are one of the few nutritious things she really loves to eat. She has cashew nuts and macadamia nuts.

However a huge amount appears to be coming out the other end apparently undigested. Is this common or does it mean she has a problem? I assume she also isnt getting any of the nutrition out of them anyway?

thanks
alice

It is common

If I east lots of nuts I always get them in my poo - common I am sure. My DS1 once had tomato skin in his poo and I thought it was his innards coming out or something!

thanks both. Just rather disappointing as i thought at least she was getting some good for them. Would you say its a waste of time giving them then?

She will be digesting part of them. And undigested fibre is good for the bowel.

Seeds etc are designed to go through the digestive system. The healthist tomato plants you will ever see grow in sewerage works, you just wouldn't really want to eat them there!

I assume they would be better digested if ground up? Trouble is i doubt DD would be interested in them then.
