We've all had some kind.of brutal cold in our house. My 18 month old included. I thought he had turned a corner today but he's staggering around crying like he's uncomfortable. He has got no balance for whatsoever and looks like he is almost drunk! I've t d to call th GP but I cannot get through,,! He's still got cold symptoms and no appetite and a bit lethargic. Is it a chance that it's just the cold he's got that's making.him.so unsteady?

Could he have an ear infection? Ears and balance are certainly related, and ear infections are painful, and sometimes coincide with getting a cold for little children. So that might be a reason.

I have zero medical knowledge, and you should of course speak to the GP as soon as you can!

Sounds like ears to me. Needs them checked by a medical professional.

Thank you. I took him to the UTC and he's has a middle ear infection. Got some medicine for him now.
