not very happy with school as they didn't even phone us to say he was hurt

Did it show up on the xray? I think its notoriously hard to diagnose when its first done and then shows up a week or two later. Tis very painful for something that is so little!

what the xray showed was a possible crack and the edge of the bone was rough-not smooth- and the nurse commented that he may of had this injury in the past (2 years ago A&E said he'd 'just sprained his wrist'...) and if left untreated can cause crubling of bone...now that fits ...as for the past year he has had achey wrist- which i blamed on too much playstation!!!!(have looked on internet and arthritis is mentioned as a reult of unhealed scapthoid- signs are crumbling bone) good bit is it does not spread- so if this is the case will not effect any other joints)

so he has another xray booked for wednesday- so may know more then.

DH had a scaphoid fracture a few years ago. He'd been rather overeager as a goalkeeper that day. They didn't put it in a cast, just told him to keep it slung up.

Healed quite quickly - he ignored their advice about not using it for a few days as he needed to ride his motorbike home from the hospital!

hope he gets better soon.
