Excruciating knee pain

Ive had the worst pain in my knee for about 8 weeks now. Its kind of below my kneecap on the front? My shin maybe. It HURTS. Hurts to walk, especially hurts to bend and straighten. Its like a stiffness but with pain. I can weightbear and walk comfortably when I get going. Anyone know what it could be,? Ages wait to see GP 🙄 I'm worrying it something sinister but since I've had it for such a long time I figure it came be anything too bad. I don't recall hurting myself or banging it etc

Get to GP and get referred for an mri. Sounds like stress fractures to your tibia

I've got arthritis in my knee and it can sound like this sometimes with a flare up. I had an MRI last year to see what was going on so I would say it's a good call to go to your GP.

Just to add I've continued to do everything as normal and even walk 5 miles most days with the pram. I am overweight but I don't feel like this is the contributory factor with it being in just the one knee.

Weight might not be the reason it hurts but it may be a contributing factor. I get bad pains in my knees, one worse than the other, when I am overweight. Every pound you lose lessens the strain on your knees by 4 pounds. So maybe try losing half a stone and see if that helps. Perhaps take ibuprofen for a few days to see if that alleviates the pain.

Thank you. Yes I'm working.on my weight, trying to eat better and get out for exercise every day. This problem started before I made siem.chanhed to my lifestyle. Its just feels very muscular/joint orientated. I have been recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia but again I was told that it would be affecting both not just one and that it was an different type of pain.
