I am due to have a pelvic MRI this weekend, it will be with contrast.
It’s to check things over because I appear to have developed Post Ablation Syndrome after a uterine ablation last year and they want to look at my uterus, which appears ok on US but is also very retroverted (my sister has endometriosis so it’s possibly the first step in checking for this, before a laparoscopy).
I had a head MRI (without contrast) a few years back to check for acoustic neuroma as my tinnitus is quite bad. It was horrible as I had a cage-like device placed over my head and the MRI was so loud but I got through the anxiety by counting the alphabet over and over in my head 😁
I have previously had a ct scan with contrast, I really didn’t like the horrible warm feeling it gave and feeling like I was going to pee myself! Will the contrast during a MRI be the same sort of thing/feeling?
I’ve had many scans, lots of hysteroscopies and 2 colonoscopies recently so you would like to think I’d have become accustomed to these things but I’m actually really nervous about this mri for some reason.
