Can I just ask for ds2 to be given one???

He was given one at the hospital when he had breathing problems last november and we use it occasionally when he has a bad fit of coughing (the docs cant find anything wrong with him). He has just had a really bad coughing fit that lasted for nearly an hour and in the end I gave him 4 squirts of the salbutamol pump that calmed it down straigh away.

Go to your GP and explain and they may dispense one. How old is ds2 ? Asthma in small children often presents only as coughing, and the diagnostic test is pretty much whether it responds to salbutamol (according to DSs consultant).
