Hand Turning Yellow

CherryBerry99 · 30/11/2023 10:09

Bit random but I woke up on Tuesday morning with the bottom of my hand a yellow/orange colour. No idea what's happened and I'm starting to get a bit concerned. It doesn't seem to be anywhere else on my body.
Has anyone experienced similar?

Did you prepare carrots for dinner the night before? I know it sounds facetious but they stain my hand exactly that colour, and I’ve had my own wtf? moment before realising what it was. I’m right handed so hold the knife in that hand and it’s only my left which comes in contact. It takes a day or so to wash away.

Nothing I can think of, it's so odd. I've scrubbed at my hand etc and it hasn't faded at all. Starting to worry it's a sign of jaundice or something

Curry?
Bruise, does it hurt to prod

CherryBerry99 · 30/11/2023 10:17

I was thinking possibly a bruise as it does appear very like that. However, it doesn't feel any different and isn't painful to touch

I'm currently trying to run through everything I did the day before to think if I could have touched something 🤣

Jaundice would be all over your skin, and the whites of your eyes. When I had it (mildly) it was only evident in my eyes to begin with.

Thanks all, I'm going to try a hand sanitizer and see if the alcohol in it removes the staining or something (if that's what it is)

Lily pollen?

SoddingWeddings · 30/11/2023 12:52

Turmeric? Check where you store it - there might be a small spill you've touched.

Lily pollen?

Think you've got it! The penny dropped with me earlier that I'd had a bouquet of lilies and roses and I threw them out at the end of last week. So I'm thinking the pollen may have got on a surface and I've touched it with my hand.
On the subject, does anyone have any tried and tested tips to remove it from skin?
