Hi, my son has epilepsy & I’m thinking of getting him an Apple Watch for Xmas- which I understand has fall detection & can alert caregivers even without using one of the specialist epilepsy apps.
Does anyone have any experience of using watch for this?
I am not at all tech savvy & am baffled by the choice. I’ve read that fall detection is only available on series 4 and after- but what does this cover? Is a SE watch series 4 or after?
Also, I think I’d need cellular coverage as he don’t necessarily have his phone on him- but does this mean setting up a separate subscription for his watch? Would his watch & iPhone have separate monthly call allowances? Through the same provider?
Reallt puzzled & not sure if this should be in tech or health!
(He has an empatica alarm but won’t use it as it reminds him of his condition, am hoping to sneak the watch past.)
