Indigestion...anxiety?

I've had what I assume is indigestion since around Sunday evening (only ever had it once in one of my pregnancies, so not something I'm very familiar with). Gaviscon has eased it but I generally feel very gassy and have had more burps and hiccups than I would normally, and when I do burp/hiccup I can feel a dull ache type pain.

I thought indigestion was more short lived than this, however I have been stressed in the last few months, and I do get anxious when it comes to my health and tend to dwell or focus on little things (like this!). Has anyone experienced indigestion resulting from anxiety? Or did they find something else to be the cause?

I've no other symptoms and I'm 35, healthy BMI, rarely drink, don't smoke etc.

Just to add, I've recently got over a very heavy cold and cough which went on for weeks. I wonder if it could be related?

I had what you are describing for four days s few weeks ago. It was also a heartburn type pain and I struggled to eat because it hurts so bad. My doctor said it was gastritis or possibly an ulcer. It went away after seeing doc though. So I haven't thought anything else of it. I do suffer with GERD and acid reflux over the years though. Drink loads of water and one eat small frequent meals. See if it helps.
