Blood in stool

This morning I noticed I had a tiny bit of pale pink blood in my stool. But not actually in it more like on the outside of it. I've got myself all worked up about it now panicking that I have cancer or something. As a one time occurrence should I be worried? I don't need this stress today. I've got a colposcopy later today for to abnormal smear as well and my mind is now racing.

It could just be from a small internal scratch/haemorrhoid or fissure due to hard stools or something.
I had a huge amount of gushing blood for several months, terrifying. Wasn’t cancer though.
If you are concerned do speak to the dr. They can arrange for a stool sample to be tested. I hope all is ok with your colposcopy Flowers

I just remembered I had some very tomato-ey pasta yesterday that I pinched of my sons plate. That maybe it? And it's not actually blood?

Could be a bleeding pile, but that is usually bright red.

Might be worth a chat with the doc if it happens again. He can order a simply stool sample.

My brother's sample came back positive - turns out he had been eating black pudding!

If it's blood, then it sounds like fresh blood, which is most likely from a haemorrhoid or fissure, I think (I'm not a medical expert). I'm pretty sure it's dark (old) blood that you need to be worried about. But if you're concerned, ring the doctor just to be sure.
