Worried that I no longer feel hunger - gastroparesis?

2 weeks ago I developed reflux symptoms, burn behind neck and lots of horrid tasting liquid in mouth. Due to previous bad experience of ppi's not working (I ended up in a&e after taking them last time) I instead switched to a low acid diet to help manage the symptoms.

This however does not seem to have helped and the reflux is continuing. I am now also getting a really bloated tummy which feels constantly full and for the past week have had zero hunger signals, I have to tell myself to eat. I have lost so much weight and am now bmi 18.

The gp seems unconcerned and just tells me to take a ppi but I am reluctant to becuase of what happened last time.

I was wondering if this is just reflux or could it be gaesteoporesis becuase of the lack or hunger/fullness? Bowel movements seem normal though and I have not felt sick.

If it is just reflux what should I do if I can't take a ppi? I am really worried about loosing more weight, now 47kg.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have this too. I am due an endoscopy tomorrow. I wondered if you would be willing to share any update on your condition

Sorry to hear that you are suffering with the same symptoms. It was really horrible but my symptoms did get better. In the end I worked out it was hormonal and linked to my hrt, too much oestrogen causing the splincter muscle to relax and also causing histamine intolerence issues. Most of the symptoms were revolved when I started taking testosterone which improves muscle tone and also seemed to help my appetite. I hope you manage to find out the cause. Good luck with your endoscopy tomorrow, I had one and the proceedure was fine so try not to worry and the result was completely normal.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunate endoscopy was cancelled 3 hours before I was due to go.
