I came down with an itch in my vagina last night and I scratched last night in my sleep.
I am sore now today from being itchy and scratchy.

Is there any over the counter cream available for itch and pain?

Get a swab first to know what you're dealing with. You need the right treatment.

I use a cream version of vagisil when I have irritation down there from shaving. It numbs and cools the skin

You need to see your GP to rule out an infection - but I second Vagisil cream as a short-term fix. Sold on the shelf at any large supermarket, around a fiver.

It totally depends if it's thrush or just general itching. If you've never had it before it could be thrush which is a medicated cream. So your best going to the drs to see which it is

Not helpful, but possibly amusing to the OP - mention of thrush always reminds me of when I sent the DH out to get me a thrush pessary, and the chemist asked him 'is it for your own use?"

Agreeing with people who say that you need to find the cause, but I was told by a gynaecological clinical nurse specialist to get Cetraben.
